What have I been doing these past two and a half years?
My husband, Tyler, finished his eight years with the U.S. Air Force. We moved from Germany back to the United States and found ourselves settled in Marietta, Georgia. This also happens to be where Tyler grew up, so we are living close to a lot of his family. This family includes our first, beautiful, niece who just turned one month old a few days ago.
I’ve been working at a dog boutique and bakery, Dog City, for the past year and a half. I currently manage one of the locations. So, my day usually consists of petting cute puppies and dogs, decorating cakes and cookies for them, and various other managerial tasks. It’s been a great adventure there so far and I look forward to more time there.
On the side I am going to start some freelance writing gigs and trying to beef up my blog. I may even write a book in the future, but who knows. Writing has always been something I enjoy, so I thought I’d dive into it professionally as well as for fun.
We found a great rental house for the first two years we were back, but recently bought our first house and are still finishing up getting settled in. We’re toying with the idea of getting a second dog, but we’ll see where that leads. We’ll know when we’re ready.
Our awesome dog, Sherlock Ian, has continued his training. He is now active in both Dock Diving and Agility. He has done very well in his first two dock diving competitions and we look forward to start competing in agility soon, too. Sherlock also has a talent agent with Atlanta Dogworks. No work has come of it yet, but we’re still very hopeful!
We have traveled a little bit. We’ve gone to South Carolina, Wyoming and Florida, all of which I’ll cover in future posts. Our travels have unfortunately slowed down since moving back to the United States and buying a house. However, I see our traveling starting to pick up again in this next year.
What’s going to happen with Living Bigler?
Well, like I said, I’m back! However, the blog is going to change a bit. We aren’t traveling as much. Now that I’m working, my recipes have diminished into mostly tacos, sandwiches, salads, and pasta – you know, the quick and easy basics. So, with that being the case, I’m going to start writing about everything and anything. Living Bigler will now be more of a lifestyle blog and anything that’s on my mind.
Thanks for reading and I hope to see you around for more future posts!
