My favorite season is undoubtedly fall. While it’s not technically fall yet (September 22nd), the temperatures this year seem to be winding down a little early this year. We’re already getting some leaves off the trees in the backyard, too! Continue reading Autumn is Coming
My birthday always falls on Labor Day weekend. Sometimes, like this year, it even falls on Labor Day itself. Although we always celebrate it somehow, I don’t have any birthday traditions. However, I do like to use the day, and days surrounding it, to reflect on my life – what I’ve done, what I’d like to do and what I am thankful for. The other night I made a delicious dinner. A London Broil steak (in the crock pot!) with loaded mashed potatoes. It was delicious! I miss steak. The steak in Germany is few and far between and not usually as good as American steak. My dad used to make London Broil on the grill and I loved it. It was one of my favorite meals and usually what I would ask for my birthday dinners. Since we don’t have grill at this house I decided to try it in the crock pot and the result was great! My husband loves mashed potatoes and I added just about everything we had in the fridge to make them “loaded”. Continue reading Meat and Potatoes
